A deciduous, broadleaf, perennial tree.
Rapid growth when young to 40ft.+ tall and 20ft. wide.
Likes sun and most fertile soils.
Hardy to 0F. degrees.
Watch for aphids and scale.
Succeptable to verticillium wilt.

Native to low, wet areas of Eastern North America. Has red twigs, branchlets, and buds; quite showy flowers. Dull red fruit. Leaves 2-4in. long, with three to five lobes, shiny green above, pale beneath; brilliant scarlet fall color in frosty areas. Doesn't like urban pollution.
