Leucanthemum paludosum (lu-KAN-the-mum  pal-u-DOSE-um) or Chrysanthemum paludosum SPRING DAISY, TINY MARGUERITE This is an annual that comes from the Western Mediterranean area. Forms 8-12in (20-30cm) wide clumps that have obovate spoon-shaped , gray green basil toothed leaves, to 5in (13cm) long, and shorter, oblong-wedged-shaped stem toothed leaves. In the summer it bears white flowers with yellow centers that resemble small Shasta Daisies. This plant reseeds easily. Light: Likes sun to part shade. Temperature: Half hardy to 22oF (-5oC). Water: Regular watering about once or twice a week depending on how hot it gets.

Fertilization: Nothing special. You can use general purpose or flower-vegetable fertilizer once or twice during the growing season.

Propagation: Start seeds in flats in late winter and put out in spring.

Pests and Diseases: Aphids, slugs, earwigs, chrysanthemum nematode, and leaf spots may be troublesome but usually they are fairly pest and disease free.
