CHINESE PISTACHE
This is a perennial, deciduous, broadleaf tree from China. The tree is erect at first then it spreads. Slow to moderate growth to 45-60ft (14-18M) tall with an equal spread. It has pinnate leaves, 10in (25cm) long each with 10-12 oblong-eliptic, toothed, leather, glossy, dark green leaflets that are 2-4in (5-10cm) long with no terminal leaflet. The leaves turn orange to red sometimes yellow in the fall. The fruits are red at first then ripens to blue-black. They are good trees for street side planting, patio, lawn and garden.
Light: Likes full sun.
Temperature: Hardy to 0oF (-18oC).
Soil: Likes well drained soil that is moderately alkaline.
Water: Regular water to no water at all.
